Intern with CWS Georgetown
CWS Georgetown offers unpaid internships to interested students from a variety of academic disciplines. Review the information below and then apply online via our Internship Application Form.
Hours: Internships require a minimum of 10 hours per week commitment during normal business hours of 8:30am-4:30pm. Occasionally, after hours and weekend work may be requested. The exact number of hours and the schedule varies based on the particular internship.
Internship Focus Areas: Intern duties vary greatly depending on current needs and opportunities. Regardless of major or area of interest, all interns are expected to help in all areas of our work as needed. Some of our focus areas include:
- Adult ESL and Cultural Orientation Interns - will spend time assisting in ESL or Cultural Orientation classes, which teach basic English and topics like transportation, housing, and cultural adjustment.
- Case Management Interns - may spend their time assisting clients navigate their first 90 days in the U.S., assisting clients with medical or mental health appointments, helping clients apply for social service benefits, organizing transportation for clients, or helping set up client apartments.
- Community Engagement Interns - may assist with communications, fundraising, event planning, faith-community engagement, public relations, and volunteer recruitment.
- Operations Interns - may assist with a variety of organizational projects related to procurement, facilities, human resources, or IT needs.
Applying for an internship at CWS Georgetown:
- Applications will be processed and accepted on a rolling basis.
- Applicants must be current students.
- Applicants must fill out the online form and email a cover letter and resume to cwsgeorgetown@cwsglobal.org.
- Interviews will be scheduled in our Georgetown office or virtually.
CWS Georgetown internship positions are available to undergraduate and graduate students. Successful applicants will be required to submit to CWS a letter from their current educational institution indicating if the internship is for credit or not for credit. CWS Georgetown internship positions are volunteer positions of CWS and are unpaid.
